Eli`s Kitchen in Medina

It takes a lot for me to give one star but from start to finish it was absolutely horrible. Zero professionalism, profanity from about everyone there , the cook staff and the wait staff making sexual comment's towards each other as if no one is around, my waitress taking calls on her cell phone as I never got a refill the entire meal would not recommend to a homeless person to dine there if they were donating the food.

We went Sunday during ice festival around 230pm and saw the menu outside and thought wow that's not that bad (almost 5 bucks for everything) so we went in and saw the table menus and almost everything was 7 bucks (except for kids meal)..... The lady said it would be probably 45 minute wait but at this time we were already invested. it wasn't even THAT busy.... We sat down and the lady asked for our drinks and we told her and she brought them......30 minutes later we finally got a refill and 15 minutes later got our food... I ordered off the kids menu for portion control 2 small chicken tenders and maybe a dozen fries for $4.00. The inside looked dirty and outdated. Won't be returning .

Awful! Gross! Dirty! Went in to get some breakfast and thought since it's been in the square for so long that it had to be good and boy was I wrong. First off it was hotter than hell in there, the staff was rude, lazy and honestly gross! I ordered the sausage gravy and biscuits. The biscuits were rock hard, the gravy was canned and it was served to me cold. The eggs were the only thing that was good. I would not recommend going there and wasting you money on nasty food in a nasty environment.

Listen, if you are going in here with the mindset that it is going to be anything close to fine dining you are going to be dissapointed. However it is the greasy spoon most of us are looking for. I have only been here for breakfast but it is the place I crave every Sunday morning. The servers are always very sweet and the food always hits the spot. Yes it's dirty, and busy, and maybe not run like a machine, but I'll be damned if it doesn't make me smile when I am greeted with a "hey Hun". Do yourself a favor, try the Mexican omlette.

Good food for the price

My girlfriend and I went here for breakfast around 1030 this morning. Food was good, cooked to order, respectable portions. I think a lot of the reviewers are expecting fine cuisine when they walk in here. It's exactly what you should expect when grabbing breakfast at a place where two people can eat for $16...and that price includes two extra breakfast sides. Above par food at this price range.

"A blintz is a thin crepe-like pancake filled with cheese". I ordered cheese blintz and got a glob of plain cream cheese and unsweetened strawberries rolled up in a thick pancake. If you are going to have an item on your menu actually have that item.

We love to eat at Eli's Kitchen. Not a fancy place, but the foodis great and very inexpensive. We always look forward to eatingbreakfast here when we're in Medina.

I'm not sure how it's possible, but every single tile in the place is cracked or broken. The entire restaurant is dirty. The booths are worn and ripped, and repairs were attempted with duct tape. They had no cucumber sauce for the gyro. The pop was flat. The gyro meat looked frozen and then reheated in the French fry frier. It was really oily. The French fries didn't taste fresh. I felt sorry for the waitress who was nice and who tried to make excuses for the management/owner who runs what can only be described as a dump. Avoid this place if at all possible. If any health inspectors are reading this, you need to pay this place a visit.

I went there for my first time and ordered breakfast. The omelet was delicious!!! It was so big I couldn't finish it! The fried potatoes were perfect. The waitress was very sweet and kept our coffee cups full. I would definitely go back!

This place is amazing!!!! We are an amazing breakfast here cheaper than it would have been at McDonald's. And the guy on the grill sure knows what he's doing. Perfect poached eggs. Nice small quaint diner in the middle of town. Parking can be a bit tricky sometimes, but it's worth a walk to eat here. The only thing i could do without is the off brand soda. Will come back again for sure!!!!!

The food is OK. I like it. The only place in Medina I know of where you can get a Reuben and tea at 7 in the morning. I know that isn't breakfast to most people but still.

It is a place you go if you want a step up from fast food. Prices are fair, but the service and everything else stinks. Their menu isn't even current. They had milkshakes on it and I tried to order one and the waitress was like, "we don't have them anymore." I asked why and she just ignored me. I then suggested they should update the menu since it is sad when you can't order what you want and she just huffed at me. Service is also VERY slow because as another pointed out, the workers take their time and just keep gabbing away. We had to wait to pay at the register for 5 MINUTES because they were talking and they looked at us the whole time. The food was pretty greasy and portions are small. The place does feel really old and not clean. The floor under us had big black balls of dust bunnies and stains of all sorts of colors. Furniture is really wobbly and our table was sticky.

Cute little dinner on the Medina historical square. Breakfast is great. You get alot for what you pay for.

This place is a dump, cant keep employees and has not that great service. Food used to be good but theres a different cook everytime i tried to give it another chance. The only good thing. Its cheap. You get what you pay for too

Had a simple breakfast: scrambled eggs, home fries, sausage and toast. Food was good with decent portions for $3.99. Waitress was pleasant and attentive. This was 11:30 am and they were not busy. From what I could see it is not a fancy place and probably could use some freshening up (beware the nail head that is raised on the inside of front door). Tip: if you like some extra warmth during winter sit in the alcove at the front of the restaurant. Seems that is the warm spot that even the waitress noted.

Food was okay, nothing fancy. The place is pretty rundown and didn't seem to be air conditioned. The only thing remarkable is the low prices.

Rewriting my old review, me and the wife go here about once a month and the food is pretty good and not too expensive, but we went today waited around half hour before half our food arrived. Then it took an other ten min before our sausage links came. Our fried potatos were crispier then potatoe chips. So we complained and made us new ones and they where half raw. So we get the sausage links and they tasted spoiled to the point we couldn't even eat them. It was a really bad experience all around. Photos are included.

Busy but good cheap breakfast

Me and my family came here for what we thought would be a good breakfast. To start we got soda. Not Coke or Pepsi cans of generic soda, which was flat. We ordered eggs, bacon, and French toast. After waiting 25-30 minutes we got our food. The eggs were supposed to be over hard. They were over easy. We also got an order of scrambled eggs which were also very runny. My French toast seemed like normal toast dipped in water. By that I mean it was soggy and bland. The bacon was a little undercooked but otherwise very good. I don’t recommend coming here unless you only order bacon.

I have to say the food is not the best price is low you get what you pay for. This please I do not think thay know what clean is .booth 20" inch rip on it this is my last time there needs lot of work

2nd time we've gone ... horrible food, horrible service. I see a lot of 5 star reviews ... maybe it's just current staff that's bad.

Good diner food and nice staff!

I love the building. Nice enough to be conformable, crummy enough to not be embarrassed by how hung over you are. Food was comparable to most greasy spoon places. On par with waffle house at the very least. Interesting menu with with lots of eclectic options. As far as breakfast goes I was happy with their ability to cover the basics. Home fries toast sausage gravy eggs on point. The hotsauce is vinegareer and compliments the sage rich breakfast sausage . I dig it and I look forward to trying their specialties. Bring CASH. Credit card machine is slow but it was worth the wait for getting the exact kinda breakfast i was looking for.

Great people great food great prices just great

Found this place after living in Medina for a while, and fell in love. It reminds me so much of a diner in PA that I practically grew up in. Not to mention they have amazing breakfast there, especially the sausage gravy and biscuits and you can't beat their prices.

Best food ever. We love this place ! Such a family friendly place. Comfort food ! Love Luba ! She’s so sweet and friendly. Staff is so attentive and they always remember us ! Blueberry pancakes are the BEST. My boss & I go there at least once per week.

Great breakfasts! Prices are very fair.

Omelet had canned mushrooms in it, potatoes tasted like the grill. Greasy diner atmosphere. The fresh bowl of blueberries looked like a bowl of week old squished blueberries. Were not round and crunchy.

Local greasy spoon. Food isn't bad, it's just the service is hit or miss and it's more miss, than hit.

I usually won't write a bad review. However service was absolutely horrible! The server who served me never checked back to see how my tough rueban and burnt fries were. I only ate it because I was hangry. Coffee was good though.

We were there during the winter festival. Place seemed busy. We were seated toward the back of the place, which isn't a problem. The grill area is right there in the open, and all we could hear was the older woman cooking complain and swear very loudly the ENTIRE time we were there. It was bad. We ordered a corned beef and pastrami sandwich and there was hardly any meat on the sandwich. This place sucks. Over priced. Kind of a rip off.

This place is the worst restaurant experience ive ever had! The staff were high an didn't know what was going on, the place was disgusting! I watched the cook burn several items and have extremely poor food handling not changing her gloves etc. After waiting almost an hour I just walked out.

Low price food was good. I have breakfast there a few times

Always a great place to eat! This is your typical small town restaurant. Great prices, good coffee. There are times of good and bad, but always good food :)

I had to ask for creamer for my coffee three times. It finally arrived... in a hot carafe. Went to pay using a credit card. Sign says minimum purchase $5 with a credit card. We asked if we could add the tip on the card, making the amount over $5, they insisted we had to purchase something else to make the before tip amount over $5. Not the cleanest place either :(

Good cheap menu options and friendly staff

Very outdated..dirty looking.quick with taking orders slow with getting food about 25 minutes with 3 customers really.. bacon taste old,potatoes were dripping with grease and the toast wasn't toast it was hard white bread with a lot of butter... never again!!

Waste of time and money. Went for breakfast after going to farmer's market. Waitress was very rude. Brought out check same time as she brought out the food making me feel I had to leave right away and she did not refill my water. Table was dirty and sticky. The pancake I got had a flat flavor and were done too long.

Eli's is part of every trip I make to Medina! I have family in town, but will take time to go here and enjoy the food and the warmth of the staff. I always recommend this place to anyone who'll be up in NE Ohio!

As a fan of the classic dive bar/diner, I appreciated this place. Good service, good attitude. The food slid right off the plate as it should.
